I’m dedicating my first Presidential update of the new academic year to the topic of College finance. In the attached document you will find information about Guilford’s approved FY25 budget, a recap of FY24 and a summary of actions we are taking to enhance financial management and stability

As has been widely reported in the media, colleges and universities across the country are challenged financially. Our objective is to ensure the College’s sustainability by eliminating our lingering structural deficit, and this will require us to be innovative in delivering a Guilford education while increasing revenues and reducing some expenses.

The support of alumni, parents and friends contributes to campus-wide optimism about our future. I encourage you to invest your time, talent and financial resources in Guilford and its students, as your efforts are essential to helping the College thrive in the long term.
