CreativeWritingEdu’s mission is to connect prospective students to resources that will help them achieve their educational and career goals. Their website celebrates the versatility and flexibility of Guilford’s creative-writing curriculum, the outstanding internship opportunities available to students, and its superb faculty.

Guilford’s is the only creative writing program in North Carolina to receive this honor.

Earlier this semester, the campus community enjoyed a fiction reading by Holly Goddard Jones, whose fourth book, Antipodes: Stories, was released in May 2022. Next semester, A. Van Jordan will give a poetry reading and teach a masterclass on poetic craft. Van is the author of five poetry collections and the recipient of a Whiting Award and a Guggenheim Fellowship for Creative Arts. 

Both visiting writers are sponsored by Guilford’s Sherwood Anderson Creative Writing Scholarship Program.
