H. Curt ’56 and Patricia S. ’57 Hege Professor of History Tim Kircher presented a paper and co-organized a roundtable at the annual meeting of the Renaissance Society of America in Dublin on March 30 – April 3.
Tim’s paper, in a session he organized with two emerging scholars, addressed the notion of humanitas as “care” and “culture” in the letters of the humanist Antonio Beccadelli (1394-1471).
For the roundtable on the Future of Renaissance Studies, co-organized with Deborah Parker of the University of Virginia, Tim shared ideas on the ways social media can help highlight how the Renaissance period is crucial to understanding the modern world. Tim serves on the Board of Directors for the RSA as the Chair of Associate Organizations and International Cooperation.
