Students, faculty, staff and the Guilford Community are invited to the 14th annual Guilford Undergraduate Symposium on Monday, April 3.
The 2023 Guilford Undergraduate Symposium (GUS), which celebrates the College’s diversity and depth that helps our students shape the future, will be held Monday, April 3.
The 14th annual symposium brings together 75 students across many academic disciplines, to showcase their scholarship and work. The topics are as diverse as the students themselves. Vibhas Nair ’25 will discuss the computational analysis of water molecules in antigen-antibody binding. Tyler Dearman ’23 will examine the effects of social media on student athletes. Peyton Siegler ’23 looks at the treatment and obstacles of being Queer and homeless.
Since the first Guilford Undergraduate Symposium was held in 2008, more than 1,000 students representing various disciplines have shown off their creative work. Video, sculpture, readings, music, dance, talks, posters, exhibitions of art, costumes, and education resources, demonstrations, and some presentations that are simply unclassifiable have been part of GUS.
In-person sessions will be held in the Carnegie Room of the Hege Academic Commons and the Orangerie. A complete schedule can be found here.
