Timothy Kircher, H. Curt ’56 and Patricia S. ’57 Hege Professor of History, published an article, “Petrarch’s Poetic Conscience: Time, Truth, and Community,” in the most recent issue of the Schriften des Italienzentrums der Freien Universtät Berlin.

The article compares the poetry and letter-writing of the Italian humanist Francesco Petrarch (1304-1374), as he reacts to the passing of time and the challenges of life. Tim wrote this paper for a 2021 international workshop on Petrarch’s writings and their influence.
