Biography
Matt Phillips started teaching at Guilford in fall 2022. He teaches writing, research, and literature classes.
He has strong professional and personal interests in helping students become better writers and readers. Most of his research is focused on 20th-century literature. He is specifically interested in entropy and affect theory as they apply to literature.
Examples of his scholarship are published articles in Mississippi Quarterly, The Comparatist, and Intertexts. He has also presented work at conferences sponsored by NEMLA, SAMLA, and SSSL.
