Title IX Education and Advocacy
The Title IX and Equal Opportunity Office extensively collaborates with students and other University offices to offer awareness campaigns and prevention programs that seek to promote positive and healthy behaviors. We strive to foster healthy, mutually respectful relationships, encourage safe bystander intervention, and seek to change behavior and social norms in healthy and safe directions.
- For Faculty and Staff: It is important that all members of the community receive training about the Guilford College Sexual Misconduct Policy and your role as a responsible employee. All new employees are required to attend in-person Title IX training, in addition to completing an online training.
- For Students: Guilford College is partnered with EVERFI, whose mission is to help students address critical life skills such as alcohol abuse prevention, sexual assault prevention, and financial literacy in higher education institutions across the country. Each year over 5 million students and employees complete these courses. As part of our comprehensive prevention program for students and employees, Guilford College expects you to complete Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates. This online education will empower you to make well-informed decisions about issues that affect your years at Guilford College and beyond. This training is to be completing by first-year and incoming students before arrival, and each subsequent year one is at Guilford College. An email will be sent annually by the Title IX Coordinator with information about how to complete this training. When received, follow the instructions in order to register your new EVERFI account and complete this training for each academic year. Feel free to contact the Title IX and Equal Opportunity Office if you have any questions or need assistance regarding your online training needs.
