Biography
Grace Ludtke joined the Guilford College music faculty in fall 2022. “Music allows us to tell our stories in a variety of ways,” she shares. “I enjoy cultivating the technique and musical creativity of my students through a holistic approach to learning, which allows them the freedom to express themselves fully through their music.”
Praised for her “brilliant” and “stunning” playing (Cultural Voice of North Carolina), Grace loves giving audiences a new impression of the harp and sharing its stories so that its secrets can be discovered. She has performed as soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral musician throughout North America and Europe, including concerts at Carnegie Hall in New York City, St. George’s Church in London, and Liben Castle in Prague, and has performed with the N.C. Opera Orchestra and regional orchestras across the state.
“In addition to offering harp lessons to music majors/minors and non-majors, the Guilford College Music Department also offers a unique opportunity to explore the harp as a beginning student," Grace adds. "Through a gracious donation of a concert pedal harp by Carol Rauch '92, enrolled students of any skill level have access to this fine instrument to use for lessons, private practice, and ensembles.”
Grace also serves on the artistic teams of the American Harp Academy and N.C. Harp Ensemble, which believe in nurturing the artist within the harpist. These programs provide transformational learning and performance opportunities to harpists of all ages and skill levels nationwide.
