Study. Research. Get Your Hands Dirty.

Get out into the field and experience nature around the world as an Environmental Studies major or minor.

The program focuses on justice, global
awareness and service to the larger community while respecting the concept of nature as sacred.
Through collaborative classroom learning, such as the development of a comprehensive, interdisciplinary forest-management plan involving more than a dozen programs across campus, as well as well-developed study-abroad experiences, you’ll expand your knowledge of core environmental principles, including systems thinking, resilience theory and human-centered design.

Imagine going to the Ecoquest Education Foundation, an applied field studies program in New Zealand, where you have the opportunity to gain experience in ecology, resource management and environmental policy. The School for Field Studies offers a wide variety of programs and locations designed to explore local environmental problems and engage in field research.
