Jason Terry '05
Jason Terry ’05 is Director of Strategic Programs at United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) USA, a nonprofit that lifts up the voices, experiences and humanity of Palestine refugees to secure American support for resources essential to every human being. He oversees programs in education, healthcare, rights protection and emergency response in Gaza, the West Bank (including East Jerusalem), Jordan, Lebanon and Syria. He also manages foundation and corporate philanthropy partnerships. Jason worked 14 years in international education and exchange, most recently as Director of Exchange Programs at Global Ties U.S. He started his career in the CEO’s office at NAFSA: Association of International Educators. He is a grassroots LGBTQ+ rights activist, with an emphasis on violence prevention and community safety. Jason earned his bachelor’s degree at Guilford College and master’s in International Peace and Conflict Resolution at American University.
Tess McEnery '06
Tess McEnery ’06 is the Executive Director of the Middle East Democracy Center (MEDC). Previously, she served as Executive Director for the Project on Middle East Democracy, leading its merger with the Freedom Initiative to create MEDC. She has dedicated her career to standing up for U.S. foreign policy that advances democracy, protects civic space and defends universal human rights. In her 15 years with the U.S. government, Tess was twice Director for Democracy and Human Rights at the White House National Security Council and served in senior positions at the Department of State and U.S. Agency for International Development. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science at Guilford College and master’s in Public Administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University.
Kehinde A. Togun
Kehinde A. Togun is the Managing Director of Public Engagement at Humanity United and an adjunct lecturer in the Department of Political Science at Rutgers University, Newark, his alma mater. He was HU’s Senior Director for Policy and Government Relations and a Senior Director at The Arkin Group, specializing in international risk management, business intelligence and strategic advisory. He was Deputy Director of PartnersGlobal’s Sub-Saharan Africa team where he led the portfolio of anti-corruption, governance and security reform programs on the continent. Prior to joining Partners, he worked at the National Democratic Institute, with stints on the Eurasia, Middle East and North Africa, and Southern and East Africa teams. Kehinde is a Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a Truman National Security Fellow and a non-resident fellow at the Center for Democracy and Development. He chairs the board of the Center for Racial Justice in Education. He earned a master’s from Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy.
Sarah Munro '09
Sarah Munro ’09 is Director of the Office of Global and Off-Campus Initiatives at Guilford College. Previously, she was Sustainability Program Coordinator at the University of Connecticut, where she helped develop UConn@COP and led students, faculty and staff to the U.N. Climate Conferences in Paris, Bonn, Marrakesh and Katowice. As Director of Program Management for New Mind Education, she supported international student recruitment and first-year engagement at multiple universities. Sarah serves as Chair of N.C. Global Leadership, part of the U.S. Department of State's International Visitor Leadership Program. She also serves as Secretary to Triad International Studies Academy, a newly approved multilingual, multicultural charter school set to open in August 2025. She is a graduate of The Early College at Guilford and Guilford College. She earned a master’s in International Relations and European Studies from Central European University and a master’s in Political Science from UConn.
Noor Ghazi
Noor Ghazi, an Iraqi-American peace activist, serves as the Director of the University Sponsorship Program at Guilford College with ECAR, Every Campus A Refuge. Her extensive involvement as a professor of practice at UNC Chapel Hill and visiting lecturer at Mosul University (Iraq) has allowed her to dedicate significant time to various peace projects, including a long documentary highlighting life under ISIS in Mosul. With a strong emphasis on conflict in Iraq's modern history, Noor actively fosters collaborative efforts for peace building by creating inclusive platforms that unite diverse voices towards a more peaceful future in the region. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Humanities and a master’s in Peace and Conflict Studies with a focus on International Peace Development from UNC Greensboro.
Termeh Rassi
Termeh Rassi, a strategist, community builder and storyteller, is Chief Strategy Officer and Editorial Director at ISAST/Leonardo, a pioneer at the nexus of art, science and technology. Over 25 years, she has been at the vanguard of pioneering technologies and innovative organizational strategies. At National Geographic Society, she led teams in exploring disruptive technologies and innovative methodologies, collaborating with global change-makers and educators to champion innovation for the greater good. She established Evolving Perceptions, providing scholarships for first-generation artists to highlight the immigrant experience and the founding of the Iranian-American Community Center. Termeh earned a bachelor’s degree from George Washington University’s Elliott School and a master’s from Georgetown University's Communication, Culture and Technology program, with a focus on technology bias, virtual worlds and digital cultures.
Tim Raphael
Tim Raphael is Professor of Arts, Culture and Media at Rutgers University, Newark, and the founding director of the Center for Migration and the Global City, an incubator for multidisciplinary scholarship, pedagogy and civic engagement. He is also the co-director of Newest Americans, a multimedia storytelling and documentary project which he co-founded with Ed Kashi of VII Photo and Julie Winokur of Talking Eyes Media. Tim is a theater director, producer, deviser and adapter who has developed more than 50 new American plays. He has also written extensively on the intersection of politics and performance and is the author of The President Electric: Ronald Reagan and the Politics of Performance, which examines Reagan’s immersion in radio, film and television to understand how the techniques and technologies of electronic media have transformed American politics and political representation.
Kyle Farmbry
Kyle Farmbry is the 10th President of Guilford College, serving since Jan. 1, 2022. He led a strategic planning process that produced Envisioning Guilford College 2027 and has developed partnerships between the College and other organizations locally and globally. He is a noted academic leader and scholar of entrepreneurial development and global education. Before Guilford, he was a senior administrator and faculty member at Rutgers University, Newark, serving as Professor of Public Administration in the School of Public Affairs and Administration and as Dean of the Graduate School. He has held teaching positions at three other universities. Kyle holds a bachelor’s degree in International Affairs, a master’s in Public Administration, and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Public Administration from The George Washington University. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the Rutgers University School of Law. A proven thought leader, he has authored several books. In 2021, the National Academy of Public Administration elected Kyle a Fellow of the Academy.
