Revitalizing Enrollment, Retention and Degree Completion
Title III is a five year federal grant from the U.S. Department of Education. It falls under the Strengthening Institutions Program (SIP) classification, which designates program funds to institutional enhancement through technology, curriculum, and infrastructure. Guilford's Revitalizing Enrollment, Retention, and Degree Completion award under Title III runs from October 2020 to September 2025.
Guilford's Teaching, Learning, and Research Collaboratory (pictured above and directly below) was established as an experimental learning space in the fall of 2016. Over the past five years, the Collaboratory, through collaborative leadership, has supported faculty in pursuing creative approaches to active and collaborative learning and has informed a broader range of considerations contributing to the development and design of Guilford’s learning environment.
The award to the College of an SIP Title III Grant — Revitalizing Enrollment, Retention, and Degree Completion at Guilford College — enabled a renewal of the Collaboratory for supporting emerging priorities for learning design and development centered on the creative integration of face-to-face and virtual learning. The space has since been outfitted with innovative hyflex technologies for digital teaching and learning and complemented with flexible furnishings to enable collaborative education. The Collaboratory launched to the Guilford community in October 2021.
