Marjorie Church Named Faculty-in-residence for GOCI

Marjorie Church, an Instructor in Guilford’s English and Creative Writing Department, has been named the College’s Global and Off-Campus Initiatives (GOCI) faculty-in-residence.

GOCI includes the College’s 800-plus academic study away and abroad options nationally and throughout the world. In her new, part-time role, Marjorie will collaborate with faculty to integrate their work and GOCI’s mission to the benefit of students.

“Guilford’s study abroad program is known for its academic rigor and culturally engaging, life-changing trips,” says Provost Maria Rosales. “We’re excited to have Marjorie working with faculty to uphold and strengthen the opportunities for our students.”

Marjorie has been an Instructor at Guilford since 2019, most recently in the English and Creative Writing Department. She’s also worked as a part-time Justice and Policy Studies instructor. She received her bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Psychology, a master’s degree in English Literature, and a Ph.D. in Educational Studies from UNC Greensboro.

The faculty-in-residence is a part-time position; Marjorie will continue in her teaching role at Guilford.
