George Xuezhi Guo, Lincoln Financial Professor of Political Science, has contributed a chapter — "The U.S. Policy Toward China from Trump to Biden" — to a new book, Foreign Perceptions of the United States under Donald Trump, published by Lexington Books/Rowman & Littlefield (2021).
This chapter reviews U.S. policy toward China before Donald Trump was elected and evaluates Trump's China policy and its profound impact. Attention is also paid to China's perception of the U.S. and China's strategies in the growingly intensified U.S.-China competition.
Generous funding by the Faculty Development Committee and the Kenan Faculty Development Funds provided crucial support for this paper.
