I am so proud of our community’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. You all have shown resilience and persistence during a time of unpredictability and uncertainty. With a virus as contagious and unsuspecting as the coronavirus, it took a sustained determination to protect yourselves and your community. You all rose up to the challenge and really showed what it means to be a Guilfordian. It has been an honor to serve you all this year and I am blessed to be part of such a caring community.

I wish I could list everyone that has played a role in keeping our campus safe but that list would be endless. So for every organization, department, or individual that advocated and followed our protocols I would like to say thank you. You all are the rock stars!!

As we end every communication, please remain vigilant as you depart campus for the summer, and do everything you can to protect yourself and those you are returning to over the next few days. Continue to operate with the mindset that everyone has the virus, including you. Take the same care and concern you had for our campus community back to your respective home communities. Practice the 3W’s and sign up to receive the COVID-19 vaccine if you have not done so. Getting the safe, effective, and tested COVID-19 vaccine is one of the most important things you can do to protect yourself, keep your family and others safe, and move our campus and community toward a greater sense of normalcy in the fall 2021 semester. We are all in this together.

Sincerely,
Jermaine Thomas
Health and Safety Task Force Chair
