Churches, civic groups, organizations and individuals can drop off critical supplies in front of Alumni Gym six days a week.

Guilford College is partnering with a nonprofit organization to collect and distribute critical supplies to areas of rural western North Carolina devastated by Hurricane Helene.

The College is working with Democracy-Green, an environmental advocacy group providing meals, water and other supplies to those in need.

Churches, civic groups and individuals can drop off supplies at the College’s Alumni Gym (5510 George Fox Road) six days a week. Items in demand include bottled water, non-perishable food, feminine hygiene products, adult diapers, hand sanitizers, charcoal grills and briquettes.

Guilford will accept donated supplies:

  • Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Sundays from noon to  3 p.m.

For more information contact Ashley Raper at ahraper@guilford.edu or (336) 316-2055.

Monetary donations are also needed. Guilford encourages those wishing to give to consider the American Red Cross Western North Carolina, United Way North Carolina, and the North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund.
