The third Guilford Dialogues return to the theme of the inaugural conference when 150 or more participants gather on the Guilford campus June 6-7 to consider building strategies for economic inclusion.
Registration is available for the conference, which aims to foster meaningful conversations and engage thought leaders on pressing issues facing our society today. It is a platform where diverse perspectives converge, sparking dialogue, understanding and action.
The keynote speaker is distinguished economist Raj Chetty of Harvard University, who will speak June 6 at 7 pm at Sternberger Auditorium. The talk is open to the public, and tickets are available on the registration page.The program is included in conference registration. Raj’s groundbreaking work in economics, particularly in the areas of social mobility and inequality, has garnered international acclaim. He helps explain why some people have better opportunities than others and what can be done to ensure everyone has a fair chance to succeed. His insights have not only reshaped academic discourse but also informed policy decisions around the globe.
Steve Bumbaugh, Senior Vice President for College, Career and Digital Access Technologies at The College Board, will moderate a Q&A with Raj following the talk. The College Board is the presenting sponsor of the conference.
The conference will feature a range of expert speakers and panelists. Surya Kolluri, Head of TIAA Institute, who is recognized as a thought leader in retirement and healthy aging research is featured on June 6. Kory Bailey, Chief Executive Officer of UpSurge Baltimore, an ecosystem-building organization, is featured on June 7.

Guilford Dialogues was launched by President Kyle Farmbry in June 2022, within months of his arrival at the College. After an inaugural event centered on economic inclusion, the focus shifted to educational opportunities and inclusion in March 2023.
