The addition of the new members, who took part in last week's meetings at Guilford, grows the College's Board of Trustees to 22 members.
Wendy Gates Corbett ’91, Keith Ivory Millner ’82, Eric Hart and Darryl Spivey have joined the Guilford College Board of Trustees.
Wendy, who lives in Raleigh, is an organizational consultant working with leaders to foster belonging at work and beyond. She is also a keynote speaker and an adjunct professor of Leadership and Management at Duke University’s Pratt School of Engineering. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Guilford and a master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Baltimore.
Keith graduated from Guilford with a degree in Economics. He later earned an MBA from The Kenan-Flagler School of Business at UNC-Chapel Hill. After a three-decade career in corporate America in senior executive roles, he transitioned to entrepreneurship. He is co-founder and President of Coaching Catalyst, LLC a boutique executive coaching and business advisory firm and co-founder and President of Social Capital, LLC, which owns and operates multiple Jersey Mike’s franchises in metro Atlanta. Keith’s community leadership includes immediate past Chairman of the Board for 100 Black Men of Atlanta; co-chair of the 100 Black Men of America’s Leadership Institute; ONBOARD Director and former Vice-Chair-Housing Authority of Fulton County.
Eric, who lives in Summerfield, N.C., is the Vice President for Programs and Strategic Fund Development for the Dr. N. Joyce Payne Center for Social Justice, a part of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, which supports the public Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) sector and is responsible for corporate partnership programs. Before that, Eric served as Deputy Athletics Director at N.C. A&T State University. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Appalachian State University, a master’s degree in School Counseling from the University of Georgia and a doctoral degree in Education (Global Sports Leadership Development) from East Tennessee State University.
Darryl, who lives in Kernersville, N.C., is Vice President and CFO of Your Write Hand LLC, which provides leadership training, consulting, writing and coaching services to professionals. He previously held leadership roles at AdventHealth, The Center for Creative Leadership, PNC Bank, HighMark BCBS and The Hartford Financial Services Group. Darryl earned a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Oakwood University, a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut, and doctorate degrees in Philosophy, Leadership Studies from North Carolina A&T State University.
Rotating off the board are Gilbert Bailey ’91, Dawn Opel ’12 and Arnie Thompson.
The 22-member board, which gathered in person and online last week, is a governing body that exercises ultimate fiduciary responsibility and delegates other authority to President Kyle Farmbry, administrators and faculty as set out in the Bylaws of Guilford College.
