What’s it like to be a student at Guilford College? What’s the essence of a Guilford education? A 3-minute video airing on a Raleigh-based television station answers those questions.
Guilford is among seven higher education institutions in central and eastern North Carolina featured in the fall 2023 edition of the WRAL College Road Trip, which premiered Wednesday, Sept. 27 and also will air on WRAL’s sister stations in the Triangle and Wilmington.
The 30-minute program profiles Guilford, UNCG, N.C. Wesleyan College in Rocky Mount and Alamance, Central Carolina, Johnston and Wilson community colleges.
"Our goal is to acquaint as many people as possible with the exceptional, practical liberal arts education provided in Guilford’s nurturing community," said Ty Buckner, Vice President of Communications & Marketing. "This was one way we’re doing that, especially to a large audience in the greater Triangle market."
Guilford's profile included interviews with President Kyle Farmbry, students and faculty and scenes of the campus along with activities in and out of the classroom.
Josie Schoenberg ‘24 says one of the best qualities of Guilford is its size. “We’re just the right size – not too big, not too small,” she says. “You recognize people everywhere you go and they recognize you.”
Kyle says Guilford’s message is clear. “Guilford enables you to change your life,” he says, “but we also give you the skills to go out and change the world.”
