Hyein is driven by the power of data and student voices to lift promising practices supporting college and career equity for undocumented immigrants. Hyein came to the United States at the age of 17 from South Korea as an international student and is passionate about supporting immigrant students in higher education. She is also a Ph.D. candidate at the Graduate Center at the City University of New York. Her research focuses on undocumented immigrants in the workforce, and in particular the experiences of Asian undocumented immigrants.
