OSLE Opens 2022 Orientation Leader Application

This week, Guilford's Office of Student Leadership and Engagement opened its application for Orientation Leaders (OL).

OLs are a select group of undergraduate students chosen to help implement orientation programs. They serve as group facilitators, role models, and more as new Guilfordians — and their families — transition to the College community.

"Being an OL is a great way to be involved in school without the hassle of juggling with schoolwork because it is in the summer," says Lacey-Ann Reynolds '23. "It’s a great opportunity to get to meet new people while having fun. Students can also learn leadership skills, facilitate important discussions, and look forward to fun events during the summer and welcome week in the fall."

"Learning from your peers is the best way to learn about yourself! As a new student, joining a new environment is always tough, so we are looking for students who can help support our new students and get them prepared for their first day of class," says Director of Student Leadership and Engagement Terra Roane. "Becoming an Orientation Leader also provides personal and professional growth. All Orientation Leaders help plan the Week of Welcome for students in August."

The application is open now until Feb. 28. Check out a full description of the role, as well the minimum qualifications for candidates.
