Black History Month 2022 at Guilford College

The College will celebrate Black History Month with a variety of events and programs throughout the month of February, with a kick-off event at 6 p.m. on Feb. 2.

"It is important to celebrate Black History Month because the Black diaspora is so diverse and filled with various cultures and rich history. Our history and culture is in constant threat of being erased, and celebrating BHM is what keeps it alive!" says Mariam Sheriff '23.

This year, Guilfordians can look forward to discussions and films, as well as learning more about Yusef Salaam, who is speaking in the Guilford College Bryan Series on Feb. 15. Yusef will be also on campus to chat with students — time and place to be determined — so be sure to check out the College events calendar for more information as the month goes on.

"I am looking forward to the event Being Black on the Block! There’s gonna be some great discussion around this event," Mariam says.
