On May 4, 2019, Guilford College celebrated Commencement in its 182nd year. Speakers included Student Body President Dwayne Duncan Jr. '19, Speaker for the Class Kristy Mirabo Shammas '19, and Dr. Johnnetta Betsch Cole H'19, recipient of this year's Honorary Degree and President Emerita of Superman College and Bennett College for Women. The Voices of Victory Gospel Ensemble performed before and after 292 seniors, as well as the first class of master's students in 40 years, received their diplomas. Master's degrees were awarded by the Department of Criminal Justice. The Quaker Brass Ensemble performed the alma mater and recessional before all attendees were invited to a picnic on the Quad. Congratulations, Class of 2019!
