Theatre Studies presents Cam(eron)

March 13, 2025

Cam(eron)  written by Guilford's very own: J Wilson.
A coming of age story.  It's complicated.

Cam(eron) is a 2 act play written by Guilford College Theatre Studies and Women’s, Gender & Sexuality Studies senior Jaye Wilson and directed by actress, director, and North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University theater professor Xulee Vanecia J. Cam(eron) is a story about the parent/child relationship, queer identities, and single-parenting in Black households. Set in Baltimore City, the play follows Cam at three different stages of their life as they grow into their identity with their mom there to support and grow alongside them.

Cam(eron) was first previewed at the Amplify Black Voices Theater Festival in April of 2024 at the International Civil Rights Museum in downtown Greensboro.
