The Red Cross has been operating at an "urgent need" status for the past couple of months. Our district includes Asheville and other parts of Western N.C. They're now over-collecting as much as possible to anticipate upcoming needs, and because blood drives scheduled in areas affected by the hurricane have been canceled.
