Follow Your Passion With Guilford's Master of International Sport Management

Focused on providing instruction and development in the practical skills needed to succeed in the sport industry, Guilford’s Master of International Sport Management (MISM) differentiates itself from other programs by adding international-focused elements to its curriculum.

“The sport industry is global and its career opportunities are vast, both in this country and abroad,” says Professor Michael White. “Our goal with this program is to open doors both domestically and internationally for our students to launch fulfilling careers that make a difference in the world.”

A World of Opportunity: Read about the first cohort of the MISM program.

Classes are offered on a virtual platform that combines asynchronous coursework with once-a-week live classes that students can choose to attend either in-person or online. Plus, GRE scores are not needed to apply.

Graduates from the 12-month MISM gain practical experiences to improve career opportunities, both domestically and internationally, as well as the academic skills they need to continue into a potential doctoral program. The program provides both industry-wide leadership best practices, as well as an examination of the international reach of the sport industry, to create student experiences that apply creative solutions to problems in the field.

In collaboration with the Guilford College Office of Global and Off-Campus Initiatives, a primary difference for the MISM is an international focus that culminates in a study-abroad experience. This course/trip will be held in conjunction with a parallel undergraduate course/trip, which will act as a networking opportunity for students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

MISM students will also be required to complete an immersive capstone experience with a sport-management organization.
